Portraits in Progress:

Thank you for taking the time to peruse my Gallery.

As a portrait artist, I am always trying to hone my skills and improve my techniques. I may even restart portraits if I am having too many difficulties getting them right.

One of the most important lessons I have learned while drawing portraits is to take a step back or away from my work every few moments. When I do this, I gain better perspectives of what my work is looking like and how the lighting or shading, for instance, may need changing.

Portraits have a way of touching my soul profoundly as I feel a part of me go into each stroke I make.

We are all works in progress, and drawing portraits reminds me of this daily.

The pictures in my Gallery are not necessarily what my finished work looks like. I take photos of my work to log my progress, and most finished portraits don't get a good-quality photo taken. These photos are very grainy, unfortunately.

Stay tuned for more portraits to come to my Gallery.
